Tissue Characterization*

* The Tissue Characterization Module is not available in the USA since the use of contrast agents for Cardiac MR procedures is not FDA-approved. A non-diagnostic version of cmr42, intended for research purposes only, is available on request.

Four adjustable viewer frames for various tissue characteristics (scar, edema and inflammation)

Assessment of Late Gd Enhancement

  • One-click auto-identification of signal intensity abnormalities such as late enhancement or edema
  • Contour drawing can be synchronized between different sequences
  • Calculation of absolute (ml/g) and relative (% LV mass) volume and mass of Late Gd Enhancement
  • "No-reflow" areas can be semi-automatically added to infarct volume
  • Easy option to include or exclude tissue from analysis
  • Multiple threshold settings, including Full-Width-Half-Max
  • Threshold-based, color-coded display of tissue characteristics
  • Polar map display of segmental late enhancement extent and transmurality

Early Gadolinium Enhancement

  • Easy determination of recommended quantitative criteria for myocarditis (Lake Louise Criteria; J Am Coll Cardiol 2009)
  • Assessment of normalized contrast enhancement and signal intensity ratios between different tissues such as myocardium and skeletal muscle (Early Gadolinium Enhancement), values are automatically calculated and displayed
  • Contours are automatically forwarded to the corresponding pre- or post-contrast image
  • The corresponding myocardial T2 signal intensity ratio can be displayed on a color map
