Main Objective of cmr42

Q:  Why do you think there is a need for new post processing software?
A:  We wanted to provide a software that adapts to the workflow in the daily routine and that makes post-processing and evaluation easy and time efficient. In addition we wanted to ease the researchers lives by providing tools and functionality necessary for scientific work. (see chapter Research and Quality Management with cmr42)

Pricing

Q:  Do you have different pricing models?
A:  Yes, we do. Pricing depends on the number of cmr studies, the number of required workstation keys and the duration of the contract. We especially designed a model for sites with low volume.

Installation

Q:  Do I need IT support to install cmr42?
A:  That depends on the rules and regulations of your environment. cmr42 is designed to be easily installed by simply downloading it from the internet. If you experience difficulties, we will assist you remotely.

Compatibility/Requirements and Formats

Q:  Do I need additional hardware, like a workstation?
A:  No, as long as you meet the minimal system requirements, you can run cmr42 on every computer, desktop or laptop.
 
Q:  Are you compatible with all scanner manufacturers?
A:  Yes, cmr42 is compatible with most MR scanner vendors including GE, Siemens, and Philips.
 
Q:  Are you DICOM compliant?
A:  Yes, cmr42 follows the DICOM protocol.
 
Q:  What are the requirements regarding the Operating Systems?
A:  cmr42 runs on Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista, and Mac OS X. For hardware requirements visit cmr42/System Requirements.
 
Q:  Can I export my result into a spreadsheet like excel, for further calculations?
A:  Yes cmr42 allows for easy export of data and reports e.g. to spread sheets, images and movies (see manual Context Menu).
 
Q:  In which format could I save images and cines?
A:  cmr42 supports multiple formats (avi, bmp, png, jpg, ppm, xbm, xpm).
 
Q:  In which format can I save my report?
A:  You can save the report to PDF or a formatted text document in the Open Document Format (ODF) and you can post the generated file to an HTTP URL.

Connectivity

Q:  How do retrieve my images?
A: 

That depends on the set up of your Lab.

You can receive images from connected drive(s) or over the network via TCP/IP.
E.g. connect cmr42 directly to the scanner, which allows to start evaluation while the scanning is still in process or you can connect cmr42 to a server or PACS System. Of course, you could use any type of data carrier compatible with your computer, to transfer your images.

A:  cmr42 holds the following certificates:

Q:  Do certifications apply to all modules?
A:  Since the use of contrast agents for Cardiac MR procedures is not FDA approved, modules that involve contrast agent are not available in the US. However, a non-diagnostic version of cmr42, intended to be used only for research is available on request.

Clinical feature

Q:  Do you provide qualitative and quantitative analysis tools?
A:  Yes, cmr42 provides all tools necessary to do a comprehensive examination.
 
Q:  Do you provide a viewer with the option to compare images?
A:  cmr42 has a viewer module with 4 windows and easy to use control features that allow for fast and easy quantitative analysis.
 
Q:  Do you provide an option for easy cross-reference?
A:  In all modules you have the option to apply a reference line via context menu to your image. Modules in which a cross-reference it is of great important to the analysis, an additional window for cross-reference view is provided.
 
Q:  Can I create a report with cmr42?
A: 

cmr42 provides a Report module: After you have done your analysis you hit the add to report button and values and images will be added to your report. For recurrent text you have the option to create text phrases which. After you have completed the report you can save it to a formatted text document in Open Document format and you can post the generated file to an HTTP URL.

In addition, as a separate product Circle offers Report42, which significantly speeds up reporting time and creates unparalleled sophisticated doctors letters by e.g. providing graphical displays. Customizable underlying normal values, will significantly contribute to the Quality Management of your Lab performance.

Additional research and quality control features

Q:  Can I export my result into Excel or other spread sheets?
A:  Yes cmr42 allows for easy data export to spread sheets, images and movies (see manual Context Menu).
 
Q:  Do I have the option to apply a background correction?
A:  BC is available in the Flow module as well as in the Perfusion Module.
 
Q:  Could I select a standard deviation?
A: 

Several standard deviations are selectable in the Tissue characterization module.

In addition, in the Preferences, you have the option to choose between Subpixel based SD and Biased SD
 
Q:  How accurate are the measurements?
A:  Analysis of up to 32x32 sub pixels per pixel significantly enhanced accuracy of small area measurements

Additional educational features

Q:  Can I use cmr42 as a teaching tool for trainees?
A:  Trainees are able to perform evaluations on their own and check their result by uploading and comparing the correct contours
 
Q:  Do I have the option to create a case presentation/review, within cmr42?
A:  cmr42 allows for preparing a case review session by selecting important images while evaluating and putting them into a separate folder

Updates/-grades and development pace

Q:  Are upgrades and updates included when I purchase a license for cmr42?
A:  Yes, they are included in the maintenances and will be sent to you automatically as soon as they are released.

Service and Support

Technical support

Q:  You are a Canadian based company, do you provide support in Europe and during our hours of operation?
A:  Circle is operating out of Calgary/Canada and Berlin/Germany, meaning that you will be able to access support 18h a day, from 07:00am - 1:00 am CEST.
 
Q:  Do you offer on-site support, e.g. to install cmr42 or to help us in case we encounter a problem?
A:  In most cases that is not necessary. Nevertheless, we do have the option for on-site support in North America and Europe.
 
Q:  What are your lines of communication?
A:  We provide mostly ad hoc remote service over the Internet, e-mail and phone.
 
Q:  In what language do you provide support?
A:  Circle Cardiovascular Imaging Inc. currently provides support in English, German and French.

Software training and academic support

Q:  Do you provide training for cmr42?
A:  Buying a license entitles you to take advantage of a personal introduction. Attached to the license you will receive a manual as well
 
Q:  I am planning to broaden my diagnostic spectrum by CMR but I have not earned the credentials yet. Can you help?
A:  Yes, we work closely with internationally recognized cmr labs and are able to connect you with these sites.
 
Q:  Is there any type of academic support, like e.g. case reviews?
A:  On a regular base we post "webinars" on our website, which cover certain topics. They provide general information about the disease, demonstrate recommended scanner protocols and show how to evaluate an CMR study; pitfalls, tips and tricks included.

Marketing support

Q:  I just started CMR Imaging. A big problem for me is to inform referring colleagues about both the new modality and the diagnostic potential of CMR. Do you offer this type of service?
